iLivingApp.com – Is It, Isn’t It, Haven’t Got A Clue, OMG, I Just Don’t Know!

iLivingApp

Well I’m giving it a go!

I like to recommend things that I personally either believe in myself or have been up front about.

iLivingApp launched on the 1st February 2013 so the truth is nobody knows how well it will do yet but from the due diligence that I have done it mostly looks like it’s worth ago. Whatever happens, with such a low entry cost it won’t be a big deal if it doesn’t go the course. If you don’t join, especially at the beginning, it does do well and you miss out then it’s bit like not playing the lottery when you had the winning numbers. READ MORE

Simple Solo Ads – Part 2 – Swap’s And Update

Swap’s And Update

Scary Huh! Or maybe not, perhaps you have fond memories for Noel Edmonds Swap Shop (an old UK TV show). Anyway, it was the best I could do 🙂

This is not about Swap Shop. It’s a “Simple Solo Ads” update and I will talk about swapping, click swapping. It doesn’t matter if you are new at internet marketing or have been around for a while, swapping is a great way to increase the size of your list. It doesn’t normally cost any money but it will take up a little bit of time. You can bank clicks as well. I will of course explain 🙂 READ MORE

Make the application and get in now!

Digital Marketing!

If you have been following my blogs then you will know by now that I always try to be straight with people and this post is no different.

The important bit – a heads up

Much of the Six Figure Mentors is about quality and that side of things is going to get even better. In fact if you have any interest in Digital Marketing and believe that the Six Figure Mentors might be right for you then you should get into it now before things do change.  I can’t say anything about what is happening until it’s all formally announced but there’s nothing else out there quite like it and it is definitely an advantage to at least make an application to join the SFM now and, here’s the link. If you have already seen enough and have more or less decided that the Six Figure Mentors is right for you then you can join up here. Don’t leave it too long though, by the time we get to November 2012 it may be too late. READ MORE

Banners Broker – is it or isn’t it, should I care?

Loads of people are in Banners Broker and they are right when they say you are bound to make money out of it … as long as you maintain it (which is easy) … and as long as Banners Broker doesn’t shut down or anything.

A lot of people’s first question is probably “is Banners Broker a scam?” and will then Google it to find out. They will probably come up with lots of sites telling you it’s not a scam with a few that say it is. So is it?  Well, I’ve pondered over this and I can’t really say for sure but I’ll tell you some of what I do know and you can decide. Before I do though, another question is “does it matter?” and for my answer to this please see my post Dodgy Schemes on the internet. READ MORE

Are Google the new dictators?

Most people know that Google’s motto is “Don’t be evil”.

But before I go any further please watch this video snippet for 2 minutes and 46 seconds. It’s A segment from the Australian show ‘Hungry Beast’ Aired on Australia’s ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) network.

Personally I like a lot of the things Google do, I use a lot of their products and I don’t want to turn this into a “let’s bash Google” article (but I probably will, a bit), it’s intended more as a thought provoker and for interest. READ MORE

Ok then, if I join the Six Figure Mentors, what will I get?

Why would you want to Join the Six Figure Mentors, I mean really, what makes it better or different?

There are some things that are unique to the Six Figure Mentors but if I’m straight with you, you could probably get all the information and training elsewhere and possibly for free! But … here you get it all in one place, in logical sequence, already tried and tested, with support, with the benefit of experience, in digestible chunks and more.

I have said before that one of the great things about The Six Figure Mentors is that the system does not stand still.  As things change the site gets updated.  Small improvements occur regularly and recently there has been a significant update. This keeps things up to date, fresh and interesting.  It is of course important that things do not change so much or so fast that you cannot keep up. READ MORE

HTML or text emails, which is best, your opinion?

This is a question really.

There are lots of pros and cons about sending and receiving emails in text or HTML format.

Plain and simple text doesn’t get picked up by spam filters so much and is much easier to read on mobile phones etc.  It’s much more to the point but clearly it’s not as pretty as HTML.  HTML gives you a much nicer presentation with pictures, videos and other things that you can put in them.  In the end the content you actually need most of the time is pretty much the same. The Charles Schulz Philosophy

Peanuts

Actually this is a bit wet but hey … I like Peanuts, I work for em and we need a bit of trivia now and then 🙂

Take the time to Scroll thru slowly and read carefully to receive and enjoy full effect.

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the ‘Peanuts’ comic strip.

You don’t have to actually answer the questions. Just ponder on them.

Just read the e-mail straight through, and you’ll get the point.

  1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
  2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
  3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.
  4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
  5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
  6. Name the last decade’s worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.

These are no second-rate achievers.

They are the best in their fields.

But the applause dies.. READ MORE

I don’t like techy stuff, it drives me nuts! Some tips

Techy stuff, it drives me nuts!

Actually I do

Actually I do like techy stuff but then I spent 20 years working in IT as a programmer, analyst etc. so I’m comfortable with it.  Even so, sometimes I get stuck with techy stuff too and have to ask for help.  Sometimes when I look at some instructions my eyes glaze over in the same way as they do when I look at a tax form (I find everyday accounts intensely boring but unfortunately necessary).  Mostly though I ok with it.

But most people don’t

Most people in my experience don’t like techy stuff and would rather put pins in their eyes than configure a router or grapple with some HTML on a web page.  “Computer; make your way to ground floor via the window as fast and as hard as possible!”  But don’t blame the computer it actually does an amazing job despite the frustrations and yes I know, there can be a lot of frustrations.  Sometimes you can spend a day or two just trying to make it work but most of the time they actually do work ok. 10 Things I like about the Six Figure Mentors

10 Things I like about the Six Figure Mentors

There are loads of “how to make it on the internet” websites and systems out there.  Some of them are just giving you information, some of them give you a system and some include tools to help you on your way, some of them are good, some of them are average and no doubt some of them are probably rubbish.

Why pick one over the other … why did I pick the Six Figure Mentors?

I had already looked at some few of these systems but to be honest I took interest in the Six Figure Mentors because it was recommended to me by someone I trusted and by someone who had already spent some time and money looking at various systems.  That isn’t to say I signed up straight away, I looked into it and watched quite a few videos, read some reports and checked out what other people on the internet had to say about it.  I checked for scams and complaints, apart from the odd malcontent the overwhelming majority of people including those in the know gave it an excellent review.  Overall I was impressed and had no doubts so I signed up, and it has so far been a really good decision. Useful stuff for making videos and a bit more (some free)

Videos

As videos are clearly flavour of the month at the moment I thought I would list out some of the useful tools etc. that I have gathered up recently.  It’s not everything, not by any stretch of the imagination but useful nonetheless I hope.  All links were good at the time of writing.  The list is not tooooo long but it took a while to put together so I hope you like it.  Some of them are free.  Here we go …

Note: It’s July 2012, the information below was/is up to date at the time of writing. READ MORE

Not every day the sun shines and I’ve been “captcha”d

Just a reflection of how thing can go, it’s that frustrating day that you get sometimes.  In the great scheme of things I guess it’s like an ant nibbling at an elephants foot so I don’t think it’s going make me cry or anything but all the same:-)

Anyway, today and part of yesterday was a bit frustrating because some of the blogs and forums I tried to register with just would not co-operate.  They either gave me errors trying to register which stopped me dead, would not send me the verification email, on one I couldn’t figure out the answer to their random question (it was easy in the end, I’m just a dummy:-() or I couldn’t put in the captcha letters and digits correctly.  I’m over it now I think but it doesn’t half slow you down.  Anyway I’ve managed to sort them all out now.  I wonder if that means tomorrow is going to go really well!? We stopped being wise

I was going to to do a blog here about not clinging to things that don’t work but instead I want to share this video from Barry Schwartz who I think has a fine mind and puts into perspective what we humans can be like.  It’s about 20 minutes long but I hope it will help you think for the better and perhaps apply it to your daily life … enjoy …

“Barry Schwartz makes a passionate call for “practical wisdom” as an antidote to a society gone mad with bureaucracy. He argues powerfully that rules often fail us, incentives often backfire, and practical, everyday wisdom will help rebuild our world. READ MORE

Balancing your scepticism

Today I want to talk about balancing your scepticism.

This was bugging me most of yesterday because some people are so negative and cynical that they won’t acccept anything. They analyse things so much that they can end up talking themselves out of a good opportunity. There is a lot of junk out there so you have to have some caution but don’t go over the top.

Successful people are positive and open to look at things, you see this time and time again. They tend to able to more easily identify a good opportunity and reject this things that are probably no good. READ MORE

How I make my videos

Videos

A few people commented on the quality of my first video so I thought I would tell you what I used to make videos which is really simple.

I don’t have a web cam at the moment because my old web cams don’t work with Windows 7 which I use now. I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX40 digital camera which we bought a few years ago for £99.  It takes 12mpx photos and HD videos.  It’s nothing fancy.  It sits on a small tripod and I use the angle poise lamp that sits on my desk for lighting.  It produces .MOV files which are too big to upload to Youtube really so I convert them to .WMV videos which are smaller using Windows Movie Maker which is free. You could use FormatFactory or whatever you like.  I use default settings, I don’t do anything clever! READ MORE
